A TODDLER who was found wandering alone on a road survived a car crash which killed his pregnant mum – and his baby brother was found alive in the wreckage.

Police described it as “nothing short of a miracle” after the boys, aged one and three, survived for two days alone in the mangled car and in 32C heat.

Three-year-old Kylen was found wandering alone along a road after surviving a car crash that killed his mum

The older boy was discovered walking on a road near Little Rock, Arkansas, on Monday morning and cops posted a picture of him on Facebook in the hope of identifying him.

They then discovered that his mother, identified as 25-year-old Lisa Holliman, hadn’t been seen for days and later that day returned to the area where the boy was found.

Cops discovered a wrecked car in a deep ravine not visible from the road and the body of the woman, which had been ejected from the car.

His one-year-old brother was awake and alert still strapped in his car seat.

Investigators believe the wreck happened two days earlier and that the older boy, who is named Kylen, was able to climb out of the wreckage.

Police said the toddlers’ survival is even more remarkable given the heat over the weekend, when high temperatures reached well into the 90s (above 32C).

Detective Nathan Greeley of the Ouachita County Sheriff’s Office told Little Rock TV station KATV : “Today is anything but short of a miracle.

“The three-year-old and one-year-old being able to survive in the elements.

“God’s blessing, that these children were able to survive this accident.”

Speaking to Fox16 News he added: “They went through a pure hell, no doubt.”

He told how Kylen had managed to get out of his car seat, climb out of the sunroof and up the ravine covered in bushes.

The boy’s heartbroken granddad, James Holliman, told the broadcaster: “When he climbed out of that car, seeing his mother dead like that like she was, he tried to wake his mum up.”

Mr Holliman also revealed that his daughter had been pregnant at the time of her death.

He said: “We just found that out at the hospital that she was pregnant. We didn’t know. We lost two.

“I’ll never get up and see her, I’ll never get to talk to her, laugh with her. My baby’s gone.”

Kylen had suffered cuts and scrapes in his bid to get help and was suffering from dehydration when he was found.

His little brother was taken to Arkansas Children’s Hospital to be treated for dehydration, but his condition isn’t life-threatening, authorities said.

Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the wreckage.
