Shocker: Eden Hazard Will Only Play 50 / 60 Minutes In My Team Says Sarri
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has revealed that influential playmaker Eden Hazard will only be used for just 50/60 minutes in his team this season.
According to the manager during his pre-match conference at the Cobham training ground, the Belgian is not fit enough to play a full match as he hasn’t returned to full fitness after hectic World Cup showing in Russia.
The former Napoli manager revealed that the player could start against Newcastle for the first time this season but he might be subbed-out in the 50th or 60th minute, depending on the nature of the game.
“I think that Eden is ready for 50 or
60 minutes, I don’t know about 90 minutes, but he can start,” said Sarri.
While speaking to the reporters ahead of the Magpies game on Sunday, Sarri claimed that the 28-year-old might partner Croatian midfielder Matteo Kovacic, who is on loan from Real Madrid, at the middle of the pitch after seeing their wonderful performance against the Gunners last weekend.
Hazard is yet to start any game for the Blues since the start of the season but that hasn’t stopped him from being influential to the team’s unbeaten record.
He came off the bench to score against Huddersfield in their first match of the season.
He was also left on the substitute bench against Arsenal last Saturday but he was on the ground to assist Marcos Alonso’s goal which turned out to be the deciding goal of the encounter.
