Paul Pogba praised Diogo Dalot for his solid performance for Manchester United in the Red Devils’ 3-0 win over Young Boys in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Dalot made his first appearance for Manchester United as he played the full 90 minutes in Switzerland to help Jose Mourinho’s men make a winning start to their European campaign.
The 19-year-old right-back joined the Red Devils from FC Porto in the summer but he has been made to wait for his debut after struggling with a knee injury in recent weeks.
However, he produced a confident and assured display for Mourinho’s men as the Red Devils kicked off their Champions League campaign by taking the three points.
And Pogba was full of praise for Dalot after the youngster put in a solid shift for Manchester United.
Speaking in an interview with MUTV, Pogba said: “For a debut he did really well.
“He suited the team and I’m very happy to see him play like that. All the players were all really proud of him.”
Manchester United will now switch their attentions back to Premier League affairs and their home clash against Wolves on Saturday afternoon at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are aiming to make it three wins in a row for the first time this season as they bid to try and challenge for the title in Mourinho’s third campaign in charge.
