Paul Merson: What I really think about Paul Pogba at Man United

Paul Merson has slammed Paul Pogba after the Manchester United midfielder appeared to criticise Jose Mourinho.

The Red Devils dropped more points in the Premier League last weekend following a 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Pogba combined with Fred to help the Brazil international scored his first Premier League goal to break the deadlock.

However, the World Cup winner was partly at fault for the promoted side’s equaliser against Manchester United.

Pogba was critical of the Red Devils’ approach to the Premier League clash, urging his team-mates to adopt a more attacking approach.

However, former Arsenal star Merson was unimpressed with Pogba’s post-match comments.

“It is disrespectful,” Merson told Sky Sports. “He is one of the top managers.

“You don’t need a player coming out questioning tactics. I know Pogba has won the World Cup but he needs to show the manager respect.”

Pogba was unable to prevent Manchester United from slipping to a 3-1 loss to West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday.

Pogba moved to Manchester United in an £89m deal from Serie A giants Juventus in the 2016 summer transfer window.

The France star remains the club’s record signing having initially left Man United to move to Juventus in 2012.

The 25-year-old has won the Europa League and the League Cup since his return to Manchester United two seasons ago.
