N’Golo Kante has confirmed that the Chelsea FC star was the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
The France international has been a key player for the west London side over the past two seasons following his move to Stamford Bridge in 2016.
Kante moved to Chelsea FC in a £34m deal from Leicester City after the defensive midfielder helped the Foxes to win the title.
The 27-year-old helped Antonio Conte’s men to win the Premier League crown in the 2016-17 season and Kante won the PFA player of the year award.
The World Cup winner has continued to thrive despite the change of management after Maurizio Sarri replaced Conte in July 2018.
Kante was linked with a potential move to Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain in the summer following Conte’s dismissal.
However, the France star stayed put at Stamford Bridge and has made five appearances in the Premier League so far.
While Kante confirmed that PSG were interested in the Chelsea FC star, the World Cup winner affirmed his continued commitment to the Blues.
“There was no particular desire to go somewhere after the World Cup,” Kante told RMC Sport. “There was interest from other clubs, but things were clear after speaking with Chelsea — the club is counting on me and I feel good.
“The next logical step was to continue with Chelsea. There was some contact with PSG, yes. However, after a discussion with Chelsea, I realised that the main thing for me was to feel good where I was then and am now.
“I am with Chelsea — staying with Chelsea is good for me.”
Chelsea FC finished in fifth spot in the Premier League last term to miss out on a Champions League place.
The Blues are set to embark on their Europa League adventure on Thursday.
