MTV VMAs are almost as famous for generating controversial moments as they are for celebrating music’s top stars, from Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift to Miley Cyrus twerking.

MTV VMAs 2018 – when are the Video Music Awards?

The MTV VMAs 2018 are set to take place from the Radio City Music Hall, New York TONIGHT (August 20), at 9pm, which is 2am in the UK.

Ariana Grande, Travis Scott, Shawn Mendes, and Post Malone are all confirmed to perform, while Nicki Minaj will deliver a “special remote performance” from an unspecified location in NYC.

In 2017, Kendrick Lamar was the awards big winner, winning six gongs, while Ed Sheeran scooped Artist of the Year and Khalid emerged as Best New Artist.

This year, Jennifer Lopez will be awarded the VMAs’ 2018 Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, their version of a lifetime achievement award. The host is yet to be confirmed.
