Maurizio Sarri has admitted that he is “lucky” to be able to call on the likes of Pedro Rodriguez in his Chelsea FC team this season.
The Spaniard has been in fine form so far this term under Sarri and he had started all three of the Blues’ Premier League games ahead of the clash with Bournemouth on Saturday.
Pedro started Saturday’s game on the bench but came on in the second half to score Chelsea FC’s opening goal and send them on their way towards victory.
The Spaniard is Chelsea FC’s top scorer so far this season, and Sarri has admitted that he has been delighted by the impact Pedro has made so far this term since he took charge.
Speaking in an interview with Chelsea FC’s website after the game, Sarri said: “Pedro has played the first three games, I started him, but on Saturday I thought it was better to play at the beginning with Willian.
“But at the end I think I am lucky because if a coach can choose either Pedro or Willian he is a lucky coach.”
Chelsea FC have been in solid form so far this season, and the Blues have won all of their Premier League games to leave them joint top of the table.
They will return to Premier League action after the international break when they take on Cardiff City at Stamford Bridge.
Sarri has been tasked with at least steering Chelsea FC into the top four this season after they finished fifth last term.
