Maurizio Sarri is hopeful that Antonio Rudiger’s injury is not too serious after the Chelsea FC defender was forced off during the Blues’ goalless draw with West Ham on Sunday.
Rudiger limped off in the second half after featuring for 69 minutes at the London Stadium in the Premier League clash.
Chelsea FC are now preparing for their League Cup third round clash against Liverpool FC at Anfield on Wednesday night.
And Sarri is hoping that the defender will be back available for Chelsea FC’s home clash against Liverpool FC in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
Speaking at his post-match news conference on Sunday, Sarri said: “I don’t know. I want to speak with the doctor. I think nothing serious, maybe three or four days, no more.”
Chelsea FC have been in solid form so far this term but they dropped their first Premier League points of the season on Sunday as Liverpool FC pulled two points clear at the top of the table.
Rudiger has been a regular fixture in the first team under Sarri, with the defender having started alongside David Luiz in the heart of Chelsea FC’s defence this season in all six of their Premier League games so far.
Chelsea FC are aiming to at least break back into the top four this season after finishing fifth and winning the FA Cup last term.
