Manchester United will have to pay up to £75m to sign West Ham defender Issa Diop this summer, according to a report in England.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that West Ham aren’t budging on their valuation of the France Under-21 international.
The same article states that the Hammers are reluctant to sell Diop given the centre-half’s sizeable potential.
According to the same story, West Ham have suggested that they would be open to a swap deal involving French winger Anthony Martial.
The Daily Mirror go on to add that the Hammers don’t realistically expect to get Martial but West Ham asked for the attacker to highlight their stance that Diop is not for sale.
The report reveals that Diop hasn’t put West Ham under any pressure to sell and the French defender is thought to be content to remain at the east London side for another season.
Manchester United are eager to improve their defensive options in the summer transfer window after the Red Devils conceded 54 times in 38 games in the Premier League term.
Solskjaer completed his first summer deal earlier this month when Wales international Daniel James completed a £15m move to Manchester United from Championship side Swansea City.
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League last term.
