Manchester United are still interested in signing Sean Longstaff from Newcastle United this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Evening Standard is reporting that the Red Devils are still keen on a deal to bring the 21-year-old to Old Trafford as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to strengthen his squad.
It is claimed in the same story that central midfielder Longstaff is one of a number of targets that Solskjaer has his eye on this summer, with the Red Devils also keeping tabs on Jadon Sancho, James Maddison, Declan Rice and Aaron Wan Bissaka.
However, it is suggested that the likes of Sancho and Rice are likely to be out of reach this summer.
The same article goes on to say that Manchester United’s interest in signing Longstaff this summer remains “ongoing” as the Red Devils look to bolster their squad this summer.
Longstaff clearly impressed Manchester United chiefs this season, with the midfielder having scored one goal in nine Premier League games for the Magpies.
Manchester United are working without the lure of Champions League football this summer after the Red Devils finished in sixth place in the Premier League table and without a trophy.
