Liverpool FC have made contact with the mother and agent of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot over a proposed transfer to Anfield, according to reports in the British media.
ESPN FC is reporting that the Reds are “very keen” on a deal to sign Rabiot and they have made preliminary moves about a possible move to Merseyside for the midfielder.
According to the same story, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is a long-time admirer of Rabiot and tried to sign him when he was in charge of Borussia Dortmund.
The 23-year-old has just entered into the final year of his contract at PSG, and that means that he could leave the club on a free transfer next summer if he doesn’t pen a new deal.
The same story says that Liverpool FC are likely to face competition from the likes of FC Barcelona for the signature of Rabiot next year.
It is also claimed that PSG are still remaining hopeful of being able to convince Rabiot to sign a new contract at the French club.
Meanwhile, table-toppers Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action after the international break when they travel to Tottenham Hotspur later this month.
