Liverpool FC have joined Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon this summer, according to reports in Portugal.
Portuguese outlet Record, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Reds are now also interested in bringing the 24-year-old to the Premier League this summer.
According to the same story, Fernandes has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to strengthen his squad this summer.
Now though, the report in the Portuguese media says that Liverpool FC and Spurs are both also interested in landing the midfielder.
The 24-year-old was in fine form for Sporting Lisbon last season and scored 20 goals and made 13 assists in 33 league games.
The same article says that Fernandes’ agent is set to fly to England next week to hold talks with the interested parties before a decision is made about his future.
It is claimed in the same story that Sporting Lisbon are resigned to losing Fernandes this summer, but they will demand a transfer fee of at least £71m for their captain.
The same story quotes another Portuguese outlet A Bola as saying that Manchester United have asked to hold talks with Sporting Lisbon to get a deal concluded as quickly as possible.
