Kenedy has insisted that he sees his long-term future at Chelsea FC after he moved to Newcastle United on loan for the season.
The Brazilian winger arrived at Chelsea FC from Fluminense in 2015 but he has struggled to force his way into the first team at Stamford Bridge since his move.
Kenedy was sent out on loan to Newcastle United for the second half of last season, and he has moved to St James’ Park on another temporary deal for the current campaign.
His lack of playing time at Chelsea FC since his move three years ago has inevitably prompted suggestions that his long-term future could lie away from Stamford Bridge.
However, the player himself has now insisted that he wants to try and prove himself at the west London club when his time at Newcastle United comes to an end at the end of the season.
Speaking in an interview with UOL Esporte, Kenedy said: “It is not that I didn’t succeed at Chelsea.
“I arrived at 19, very young. It was good to be loaned to get more playing time; better than staying at Chelsea and not playing.
“I hope this year I can make a good season for Newcastle and go back to Chelsea to continue.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action after the international break when they host Cardiff City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The Blues have made a strong start to life under Maurizio Sarri after his appointment as the club’s new manager back in July, winning all four of their opening Premier League games.
