Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Mohamed Salah’s brilliant form in front of goal can never be taken for granted by Liverpool FC.
The Egypt international was one of world football’s top players last season as he helped the Reds to reach the Champions League final and finish fourth in the Premier League.
Salah netted a staggering 44 goals in his first season at Anfield following his transfer from AS Roma last summer.
The 26-year-old has also started this season strongly, scoring two goals and making one assist in his first five Premier League appearances.
And Klopp has been delighted by how the attacker has begun his second season at the Merseyside outfit.
Speaking at a news conference before Liverpool FC’s clash with Southampton on Saturday, Reds boss Klopp said: “He had fantastic offensive situations in both of the last games. He is in a good shape, actually, and then finishing is never something you can take for granted.
“I never do that and the players should never do that, only the supporters are allowed to do that!
“Really, he’s in good shape and the most important thing is that physically he is in a very good shape and that helps.”
Liverpool FC are aiming to be one of the main contenders for the Premier League title this season as they bid to try and win their first major trophy under Klopp.
The Reds ended up losing the Champions League final 3-1 to Real Madrid in the showpiece in Kiev back in May.
Liverpool FC will kick off their League Cup campaign with a third-round tie against Chelsea FC at Anfield on Wednesday night.
