Jamie Carragher heaped praise on four Liverpool FC players following Tuesday night’s 3-2 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
The Reds broke the deadlock in the 30th minute thanks to Daniel Sturridge’s powerful header after Andy Robertson provided the assist for the England striker.
Georginio Wijnaldum won a penalty six minutes later and vice captain James Milner dispatched his second goal of the 2018-19 season.
Milner played a vital role in Roberto Firmino’s winner after the retired England international recycled possession to allow the Brazilian forward to score deep in added time.
Former Liverpool FC defender Carragher praised Milner, Robertson and Wijnaldum on Twitter, while the Reds legend singled out club captain Jordan Henderson for acclaim.
Carragher wrote on Twitter: “.@JamesMilner playing the best football of his career, Gini & Henderson outstanding also! Andy Robertson the best left back since 2001 #LIVPSG”
Liverpool FC haven’t won the Champions League since 2005 following losses to AC Milan and Real Madrid in European showpieces in 2007 and 2018.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are in a strong position to reach the knockout stage after Napoli were held to a goalless draw with Red Star Belgrade.
A positive result in Italy in their next Champions League fixture would give Liverpool FC the springboard to beat Red Star in successive games and secure a last-16 spot ahead of the return fixtures against Napoli and PSG.
