Frank Lampard was full of praise for Tammy Abraham after his hat-trick helped to fire Chelsea FC to a 5-2 win at Wolves on Saturday.
Lampard has been placing his faith in the young striker this season and the 21-year-old has started four of Chelsea FC’s five games this term.
Abraham produced a brilliant man of the match display on Saturday as he scored three goals to help the Blues return to winning ways in the top flight.
And Chelsea FC boss Lampard feels that Abraham his likely to force his way into the England set-up if he continues his current form.
Speaking at his post-match news conference on Saturday, Lampard said: “The three different types of goals he scored were exactly what you want from Tammy: a messy one, a good header and then a fantastic feet and finish goal.
“He has to sustain it. He has to be hungry which I know he is. He can never rest on his laurels because there is more work to be done.
“I have got confidence in him, I am prepared to give him chances, but even more now be tougher on him because he has shown what he can do.
“The moment he wants to come off that and think goals will drop at his feet will be the moment he is rested.
“But I’m happy because I see him every day and he wants to play every day and score every day. That’s something a bit special. You don’t see that in all young players.”
Chelsea FC will now switch their attentions to Champions League affairs and their home clash with Valencia on Tuesday night.
Lampard’s men will then begin their preparations for their crunch home clash against Liverpool FC at Stamford Bridge next weekend.
