Eden Hazard believes that Chelsea FC’s new “patient” tactics are part of the reason for their strong start under new boss Maurizio Sarri.
The Blues have been getting used to life under their new manager following the Italian boss’s appointment as Antonio Conte’s successor back in July.
Chelsea FC have made a strong start to the new campaign, with the Blues having won all five of their opening five Premier League games to leave them top of the table.
Hazard scored an impressive hat-trick at Stamford Bridge on Saturday as Chelsea FC claimed a thumping 4-1 win over Cardiff in west London.
And the 27-year-old has opened up about how he and his team-mates have changed their approach since Sarri’s appointment at Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Hazard told Chelsea FC’s website: “We just keep the ball.
“We are patient, so we don’t go too fast too early. After 20 minutes the result was 1-0 for Cardiff, but we just kept playing our football and then, when we have the chance, we need to score, and that’s what we did.
“The manager just wants Chelsea to keep the ball, and then when we can find a solution we need to find good passes between the lines, like Jorginho, Kovacic and Fabregas can do. So, we have a lot of good players, and at the moment we are in confidence, so we shoot, we score. We need to keep this momentum.
“We have a lot of freedom on the pitch, not just the three in front but all over the pitch, so when we are in this condition we just need to take the ball and try something, and at the moment something happens, so that is very good.
“When I’m on the pitch I’m just trying to create chances, score goals. A hat-trick comes with confidence, so I will try to do more of this.”
Chelsea FC will now turn their attentions back towards Europa League affairs and their clash against PAOK on Thursday night.
The west London side finished in fifth place and won the FA Cup last season under Conte before his sacking back in July.
The Blues will be aiming to break back into the top four at the very least this season under Sarri.
