SHOTS were fired at Del Mar race course in California during a live televised competition – as crowds gathered for an Ice Cube concert.
Shocking footage caught the moment commentators screamed “there’s gun fire at the track” and a jockey was flung from his horse.
Cops confirmed they shot a man after he fired a gun into the air outside the venue, where people had gathered waiting for the rapper to perform.
The gunman has been rushed to hospital in an unknown condition, and there are no other injuries.
Rider Drayden Van Dyke, was thrown from his spooked steed during the gunfire.
TV pundits could be heard fleeing as the drama unfolded live on TVG.
Harrowing footage on social media show cops treating the shot man as people quiz staff on what happened.
Another shows terrified punters hiding in the Del Mar restaurant kitchens.
Police rushed to the site and cordoned off the area.
The TVG staff and Van Dyke were unharmed.
Panicked punters took to social media as the drama unfolded around them,
One wrote: “Was watching final race at Del Mar when shots rang out.
“Was leaving and outside main gate police and fire personnel went into action. Guns drawn.
“Then massive response of law enforcement still continuing.”
Just moments before shots rang out, the race course tweeted; “We are officially SOLD OUT for the Ice Cube concert.
“Parking and admissions gates are now closed.”
Half an hour after the shooting it tweeted again that the concert was due to go ahead as planned.
