YORK is the main attraction on Thursday, but there are four other competitive meetings to get stuck into.
We’ve picked out our best bets across the cards and can hopefully build up a nice kitty for the week ahead.
3.35 Sea Of Class – Top-class filly won cheekily in the Irish Oaks last time. Proven over the trip, unlike her main rival Laurens, and she will be hard to beat.
2.25 Oberyn Martell – Won easily at Salisbury in June and was unsuited by the drop back to 5f under a big weight when fourth here latest. Back up in trip now so worth another chance.
2.50 The Groove – Caught close home when a good second over a mile at Ffos Las on his last start. Drop back to 7f will help and mark remains unchanged.
4.00 Seamster – Now an 11-year-old but has shown this season that the fire is still burning. Dropped in class today and on a very good mark.
LATEST IN HORSE RACING
3.10 Royal Village – Battled on bravely to force a dead-heat over a shorter trip at Market Rasen last time. Extra furlong today in his favour and looks to have improved for a wind op.
1.30 Boychick – Useful performer on the Flat and has run well in three starts over hurdles so far. Will appreciate quicker ground conditions today.
6.20 Holyrale – Won easily over fences off this mark last time out. Now rated 130 over the bigger obstacles, so looks thrown in now switched back to hurdles today.
4.40 Dusky Raider – Ran well on his return from a short break at Worcester last month. Eased in trip and Richard Johnson takes over in the saddle.
6.10 Wild Edric – Shaped with plenty of promise when second on debut at Chester. Will have learnt plenty from that experience and can go one better now.
5.40 Canford Bay – Rare below-par effort at Pontefract last time out. Better than he showed there, so no surprise if he bounced back in an easier race.
