Garth Crooks has praised Joe Gomez for his “outstanding” performance in Liverpool FC’s 2-1 win over Leicester City on Saturday.
The England international has been earning lots of praise for his recent displays in Jurgen Klopp’s men and he was once again in fine form on Saturday as he helped the Reds to claim all three points against the Foxes.
Gomez has started all four of Liverpool FC’s Premier League games so far this season to help the Merseyside outfit win all of their games and lead the way at the top of the table.
And Crooks opted to single out the 21-year-old for special praise after Liverpool FC’s battling win over the Foxes this weekend.
Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Crooks said: “Three games played and no goals conceded? I thought I was hearing things, but that was the reality going into the game against Leicester City.
“Gomez has played in all those games But it was his performance against Leicester that was outstanding.
“This player is a must for England, and I am really sorry to have to say this and put so much pressure on the lad, but he is the nearest thing I have seen to Bobby Moore for years.”
Gomez will be hoping to start for Liverpool FC when the Reds look to make it five wins in a row in the Premier League with a trip to Tottenham Hotspur after the international break.
Klopp has been tasked with steering Liverpool FC to a genuine Premier League title challenge this season after the Reds finished without a trophy last term.
