Arsene Wenger has admitted that he has been impressed by Matteo Guendouzi’s start to life at Arsenal.
The 20-year-old has been a regular fixture in the first team at The Emirates and he has been earning plenty of praise for his performances for the Gunners this season.
Guendouzi has made one assist in eight Premier League games so far this season to help the north London side up into third place in the top flight table.
The Frenchman has been earning lots of plaudits for his displays for the north London side since signing for Arsenal from Lorient back in July 2018.
And former Gunners boss Wenger has admitted that he has been impressed by what he has seen from the France international in recent weeks.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro, Wenger said: “He looks to be a good potential.
“I think there are many other players who have fantastic potential, who played already with me, like Joe Willock and you have Reiss Nelson.
“You have many players who come out and have a big potential and Guendouzi is one of them.”
Guendouzi will be hoping to start for Arsenal when the Gunners return to Premier League action after the international break with a trip to Sheffield United.
The north London side currently find themselves in third place in the table and just a point behind second-placed Manchester City after eight games.
Arsenal are aiming to try and break back into the top four this season after they finished fifth and without a trophy last term.
