Real Madrid will make a fresh bid to sign Christian Eriksen next summer if Paul Pogba decides to commit to a new contract at Manchester United, according to a report in Spain.
Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, as quoted by the Daily Mail, is reporting that the Spanish giants are interested in another move for Eriksen next summer.
The same article states that the Spanish giants are plotting a move when the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder’s contract expires at the end of the 2019-20 Premier League season.
According to the same story, Real Madrid are expecting to face competition from their derby rivals Atletico Madrid, who signed Eriksen’s team-mate Kieran Trippier in the summer.
The report goes on to say that Manchester United are willing to pay a cut-price fee for Eriksen to sign the Denmark international in the January transfer window.
However, the story adds that Manchester United will end their interest in Eriksen if Pogba decides to commit his long-term future to the 20-time English champions.
If this happens, Mundo Deportivo believe Real Madrid will step up their interest in Eriksen.
Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw with Southampton before the international break.
Tottenham, meanwhile, surrendered a 2-0 lead to play out a 2-2 stalemate with Arsenal in the north London derby.
