Arsenal have agreed a £28m deal to sign William Saliba from Saint-Etienne, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the north London side have agreed a deal to bring the 18-year-old to The Emirates after the speculation linking him with a switch to north London.
According to the same story, the teenager has chosen to join Arsenal ahead of north London rivals Tottenham – and he is due to undergo a medical with the north London club on Tuesday.
The same article says that Saliba will be immediately loaned back to the French club – but he is also keen to further his development at Arsenal as soon as possible.
It is claimed in the same story that Tottenham attempted to hijack the deal late on, but to no avail.
Arsenal are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they bid to try and break back into the top four next term.
The north London club finished in fifth place in the Premier League table and lost the Europa League final to Chelsea FC last season under Unai Emery.
