Romelu Lukaku’s transfer from Manchester United to Inter Milan is being held up by the Italian club’s search for a buyer for Mauro Icardi, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Telegraph, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that Inter will not be able to afford to sign Lukaku from the Red Devils until they offload Icardi this summer.
So, the Italian club may offer Manchester United the chance to sign Icardi plus cash in return for a deal to land the Belgian striker, according to the same article.
The same article says that Lukaku is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer but he will not force a move by handing in a transfer request at Old Trafford.
According to the same story, no clubs have yet made any bids to sign Icardi this summer.
Lukaku is being linked with a move away from Manchester United after having fallen out of favour at the club in the second half of last season.
The 26-year-old striker still managed to score 12 goals in 32 Premier League games for the Red Devils, but it seems as though he is on his way out of Old Trafford this summer.
