Manchester United have turned down the chance to sign Youri Tielemans this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Telegraph, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Red Devils have been offered the chance to sign the 22-year-old midfielder as the speculation about Paul Pogba’s future continues.
Pogba spoke publicly about his desire to leave Old Trafford over the weekend as the speculation about the midfielder’s situation rumbles on.
Tielemans impressed during his loan spell at Leicester City from Monaco last season and has been linked with several clubs.
Now, according to the same story, Manchester United have been offered the chance to sell Tielemans but have turned down the opportunity.
The same story says that Manchester United are focused on bringing in other targets as the Red Devils look to strengthen their squad after a disappointing campaign.
It is claimed in the same report that Monaco are seeking a transfer fee of around £40m for the 22-year-old Belgian midfielder.
Manchester United completed their first signing of the summer last week when they tied up a deal to bring in Daniel James from Swansea City.
The Red Devils finished in sixth place in the Premier League table and without a trophy last term.
