Manchester United have reestablished contact about making a move to sign Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Independent is reporting that key figures at FC Barcelona have doubts about a move to sign the 28-year-old this summer, and that has potentially paved the way for the Red Devils to make a move.
Griezmann is set to leave Atletico Madrid this summer and it was thought that FC Barcelona were leading the race to sign the French World Cup winner.
However, the same story says that communication has now been reestablished with Manchester United, who remain interested in signing the attacker after having been linked with him many times in the past.
According to the same story, Manchester City and Real Madrid are not interested in Griezmann, and Juventus would not be able to afford him – and PSG currently have no plans to make a move.
The same article says that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is out to sign a right-sided player in the summer transfer window, and funds could be freed up by the sale of Romelu Lukaku.
It is also claimed in the same story that some unnamed “key figures” in European football feel that Old Trafford is Griezmann’s most likely next destination.
