Piers Morgan has taken to social media to question Alexis Sanchez’s transfer to Manchester United after the Red Devils were held to a 1-1 draw by Huddersfield Town on Sunday afternoon.
The Chile international has struggled to make an impact since arriving at Old Trafford from Arsenal back in January 2018.
Sanchez has struggled with form and fitness issues since his move and has failed to live up to expectations despite being one of Manchester United’s highest-paid players.
The 30-year-old started Manchester United’s clash with Huddersfield Town in the Premier League on Sunday but hobbled off with an injury early in the first half at the John Smith’s Stadium.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Sanchez given his struggles at Manchester United this season.
However, celebrity Arsenal fans Morgan was quick to highlight Sanchez’s struggles at Manchester United this season as the Red Devils were forced to settle for a draw in their penultimate Premier League game of the season.
Morgan wrote on Twitter: “Alexis Sanchez….worst transfer decision in football history?
“Best and most-valued player at Arsenal to limping £500k-a-week irrelevance at United.”
The result means that Manchester United have missed out on Champions League qualification for next season.
It remains to be seen whether Sanchez will be fit for Manchester United’s final game of the season, when they host Cardiff City at Old Trafford next Sunday afternoon.
