Lee Dixon lavished praise on Eden Hazard for his performance in Chelsea FC’s 2-2 draw with Burnley on Monday night – but said that he is fully expecting him to leave the club this summer.
Playmaker Hazard, 28, was in top form on Monday night and set up N’Golo Kante for the Blues’ opener at Stamford Bridge after Jeff Hendrick had put the visitors in front.
Gonzalo Higuain then scored moments later to make it 2-1, only for Ashley Barnes to equalise before half-time.
Hazard is widely regarded as one of European football’s top attacking talents and he has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent weeks, speculation that has heightened since Zinedine Zidane’s return to the Bernabeu.
Former Arsenal star Dixon was clearly impressed by Hazard’s performance on Monday night, but he feels that he won’t be at the west London club next season.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live during the game, Dixon said: “Eden Hazard looks like he is loving this.
“He’s mesmerizing to watch and I cringe for the full-back because you know what’s coming. Hazard’s decision making is world-class.”
He added: “Unfortunately we’re not going to see him next season because I’m convinced he will not be here.”
Later in the game, Dixon said: “It’s like Eden Hazard has an invisible cloak on him, as soon as he has got the ball Burnley’s players are trying to work out where he is and what he is going to do.”
Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Blues, who are fourth in the table and level on points with third placed Tottenham, are aiming to finish in the top four this season after they finished fifth and won the FA Cup last term under Antonio Conte.
