Eden Hazard’s proposed move from Chelsea FC to Real Madrid this summer depends on Zinedine Zidane, according to reports in the Spanish media.
Spanish outlet Marca, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that the La Liga outfit are still keen to land the 28-year-old playmaker this summer after the relentless speculation linking him with a transfer.
According to the same story, Chelsea FC have told all of their players that they will have to stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer following their Fifa transfer ban.
However, it is claimed in the same report that Chelsea FC could be willing to cash in on Hazard this summer if he opts not to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard’s current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2020, meaning that he could leave on a free transfer at the end of the next season as things stand.
According to the same story, Zidane will have to give Real Madrid the green light to pursue a move, with the Frenchman currently “weighing up” potential attacking signings ahead of next season.
Hazard was a second-half substitute as Chelsea FC came from a goal down to beat Cardiff City 2-1 on Sunday afternoon to keep their top-four hopes alive.
