Gary Neville praised Andy Robertson for his brilliant assist in Liverpool FC’s dramatic 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday evening.
Andy Robertson managed to pick out Roberto Firmino with a superb cross, before the Brazilian forward guided a header past Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
However, Spurs looked to spoil Liverpool FC’s title hopes when Brazil international Lucas Moura equalised with 20 minutes to go at Anfield.
Tottenham had chances to extend their lead through Dele Alli and Moussa Sissoko but both Spurs midfielders wasted chances with Alisson Becker at their mercy.
And Liverpool FC conjured a late winner when Toby Alderweireld netted an own goal in added time after Lloris made a handling error.
The win hoisted Jurgen Klopp’s side above Manchester City with a two-point lead ahead of their trip to the south coast later this week.
Former Manchester United defender Neville raved about Robertson’s assist for Firmino’s opening goal at Anfield on Sunday evening.
“Robertson was in acres of space,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“He had lots to do. It was an absolutely outstanding cross. He doesn’t have a lot to do with his head. It is past Lloris before he knows it.”
Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action with a trip to Southampton at St Mary’s on Friday night.
The Merseyside outfit are looking to win their first-ever Premier League title, having finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
Tottenham will take on Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final, while Liverpool FC will face FC Porto over two legs.
