Liverpool FC forward Mohamed Salah won’t consider a move to Real Madrid in the near future, according to Daily Record reporter Ian McGarry.
The Egypt international has been linked with a move to FC Barcelona and Real Madrid on a regular basis since establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s top forwards.
Salah finished as the Premier League’s top goal-scorer last season following a return of 32 goals in 36 games in his first full season in the English top flight.
The 26-year-old helped Liverpool FC to reach the Champions League final with 11 goals in 14 outings before Salah suffered a shoulder dislocation in the Kiev showpiece.
Salah’s tussle with Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos left the Egyptian with the shoulder prpblem and forced his premature exit before Liverpool FC went on to lose 3-1.
Dubbed the ‘Egyptian Messi’ by his admirers, Salah has been linked with a move to one of the two La Liga giants as recently as January.
Zinedine Zidane’s return to Real Madrid is bound to prompt a fresh wave of speculation linking los Blancos with a host of European football’s top strikers.
However, Daily Record reporter McGarry explained why Salah won’t be considering a switch to Real Madrid any time soon.
“I’m not saying he’ll never play for Real Madrid because I am sure he is a player they’d be interested in,” McGarry told the Transfer Window podcast.
“But after the street-like mugging he suffered at the hands of Sergio Ramos in the Champions League final, I think as long as Ramos is at the club, Salah will feel a little bit inhibited with regards to joining them.”
Salah has netted 20 times in all competitions this term.
