Roy Keane is adamant that it isn’t unsuual for players not to get on with their manager when asked about the current situation at Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho is facing accusations of losing the dressing room following Manchester United’s uninspiring performance in a goalless draw with La Liga side Valencia on Tuesday night.

The Red Devils struggled to test los Che in their second Champions League fixture as key players such as Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez struggled to exert their influence.

Indeed, England internationals Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw were the only players to emerge from the European clash with any credit for their endeavour down the left wing.

Manchester United lost 3-1 to West Ham United at the London Stadium last weekend to suffer their third Premier League loss of the current campaign.

Mourinho is reported to have fallen out with club record signing Pogba and Manchester United captain Antonio Valencia in recent weeks to suggest dressing room disharmony at Old Trafford.

However, former Manchester United skipper Keane doesn’t believe Mourinho falling out with some of his squad should be a big talking points given it is a frequent occurrence in any work place.

“We talk about footballers and managers, not every player is going to get on with the manager, the manager is not going to like every player,” Keane told Notts TV, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

“But what you do as a footballer, and whatever disagreements I’ve had with one or two managers, when you cross that line, you play for your team.

“I don’t care what fallout you’ve had with your manager, I don’t care if you’ve been at each other’s throats, because that is part of the industry, people do fall out.

“It happens in other industries, but unfortunately when you’re Man United – one of the biggest clubs in the world – things will get exaggerated.

“But if you’re a footballer for Manchester United and you put that jersey on and you walk out and you don’t give 100 per cent because you might be upset with somebody, then, no, good luck to Mourinho.’

Mourinho was unhappy with the Manchester United board in the summer transfer window after the Red Devils missed out on some key targets to improve their squad.

Manchester United signed Shakhtar Donetsk star Fred, FC Porto defender Diogo Dalot and Stoke City goalkeeper Lee Grant.

However, the trio have had a limited impact on the Manchester United team to suggest Mourinho’s grievances were valid during the summer.

Mourinho, though, has a mixed record in the transfer market since taking over the reins from Louis van Gaal in May 2016.

Victor Lindelof, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly have all struggled to find consistency at Old Trafford and the Armenia international was offloaded to accommodate Alexis Sanchez in January.

Manchester United have a great chance to end their winless run with the Red Devils welcome 19th-placed Newcastle United to Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Mapgies are still without a victory in the Premier League campaign and Rafael Benitez’s side have struggled to score goals.
