David Luiz has insisted that he is thoroughly enjoying getting used to Maurizio Sarri’s “great philosophy” at Chelsea FC this season.
The Italian manager is currently getting to grips with life at the west London club after having signed for the Blues as Antonio Conte’s successor back in July.
The west London side have made a strong start to the new campaign under their new manager and they have won five and drawn two of their opening seven games in the Premier League this term.
Sarri’s men were pegged back and held to a 1-1 draw by Liverpool FC at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening, but they are still third in the table and just two points off top spot.
And Blues defender David Luiz has admitted that he his really enjoying the new style of play that former Napoli boss Sarri has brought to the west London club.
Speaking in an interview with Chelsea TV after Saturday’s game, David Luiz said: “Sarri is trying to introduce his philosophy every single day and we are trying to learn that as quickly as possible because it’s a great philosophy: try to play every single second with the ball on the ground, quick movements, passes, possession.”
Chelsea FC will return to Europa League action on Thursday night when they take on Videoton at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are aiming to at least break back into the Premier League’s top four this season after they finished fifth and won the FA Cup last term under Antonio Conte.
