Maurizio Sarri has hinted that he is planning to make a number of changes to his Chelsea FC team for their trip to Liverpool FC in the League Cup third round on Wednesday night.
The Blues dropped their first Premier League points of the season on Sunday afternoon when they were held to a frustrating goalless draw by West Ham United at the London Stadium.
Chelsea FC had been keeping pace with Liverpool FC at the top of the table, but their draw in east London on Sunday allowed Jurgen Klopp’s men to pull two points clear at the top of the table.
The west London side are now preparing to head to Anfield on Wednesday night as they prepare to take on the Reds at Anfield for a place in the League Cup fourth round.
And Sarri has hinted that he will refresh his team for the trip up to Merseyside.
Speaking at his post-match news conference on Sunday, Sarri said: “I want to see the picture of the situation tomorrow morning [Monday] during training.
“Maybe I will have to change 11 players, maybe only five. At this moment I don’t know.”
Chelsea FC will then turn their attentions towards their crunch Premier League clash against Liverpool FC in the top flight at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
A win for the Blues would take them two points ahead of Liverpool FC, but a Reds win would allow them to pull four points clear of the west London side at this early stage of the season.
