Chelsea FC are lining up a move to sign Fiorentina star Federico Chiesa in the January transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Express is reporting that the Blues are in “pole position” to sign the Italy winger in the new year as Maurizio Sarri looks to add to his squad at Stamford Bridge.
The same report says that the Chelsea FC are ready to go head to head with Napoli for the signature of the 20-year-old as soon as the mid-season transfer window opens in the new year.
According to the same story, Juventus had a big-money bid for Chiesa turned down by Fiorentina in the summer transfer window, but now Chelsea FC are poised to try their luck in attempting to secure a deal.
The article claims that new Chelsea FC boss Sarri is a huge fan of Chiesa and he is keen to try and bring him to Stamford Bridge next year.
However, it is likely that the Blues are going to face significant competition for his signature from the likes of Juventus and Napoli in the January transfer window.
Chiesa has been in solid form for Fiorentina so far this season, scoring one goal and making one assist in four Serie A games.
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are preparing to travel to West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
