Roberto Firmino wore a pair of protective glasses as the Liverpool FC attacker reported to training this week.
The Brazilian attacker claimed the headlines on Tuesday night when he came off the bench to net the winner in Liverpool FC’s dramatic 3-2 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League opener at Anfield.
Firmino had started the game on the bench after he sustained a nasty eye injury during Liverpool FC’s 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.
However, he was deemed fit enough to come off the bench and he ended up proving to be the hero as Liverpool FC kicked off their Champions League campaign with a 3-2 win in front of their home fans.
Firmino will now be hoping to prove his fitness before Liverpool FC return to Premier League action on Saturday with a home clash against Southampton at Melwood.
And the Brazil international looked in good shape as he reported for training at Melwood this week.
Liverpool FC head into their clash with Southampton looking to continue their fine start to the new Premier League season, with the Reds having won all five of their opening top-flight games.
Their solid start has left them level on points with Chelsea FC at the top of the Premier League table.
