Danny Higginbotham believes that Saturday’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley will suit Liverpool FC.
The Reds are looking to make it five wins on the bounce in the top flight after having made a solid start to the new campaign under Jurgen Klopp.
The Merseyside outfit are aiming to be one of the main contenders for the Premier League title this season after they finished in fourth place and without a trophy last term.
Liverpool FC are now preparing for a stern test of their title credentials when they take on Mauricio Pochettino’s side at Wembley on Saturday lunchtime.
Tottenham, meanwhile, are aiming to bounce back from their disappointing defeat by Watford before the international break.
However, former defender Higginbotham seems to think that the game will suit Liverpool FC more than it does Spurs.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports on Thursday, Higginbotham said: “It’s a game that suits Liverpool with them playing away. They are one of the best counter-attacking teams in Europe.
“The onus is also on Tottenham after their result against Watford so I think Liverpool will be comfortable in giving Spurs the ball, but when they win it back they’ll get at them.
“Tottenham will have to be quite expansive because they need to get the win.”
Liverpool FC earned lots of praise for their solid form last season as they reached the Champions League final, but they ended up losing to Real Madrid in the showpiece.
The Reds are still aiming to win their first major trophy since Klopp’s appointment at Anfield back in October 2015.
