Ethan Ampadu has expressed his frustration at not getting the game time he feels he deserves at Chelsea FC.
The Welsh international has appeared seven times in Chelsea FC blue since he moved to Stamford Bridge in 2017.
By all accounts, he played a starring role during Wales’ win over Ireland, and now has set his sights on more game time for Chelsea FC.
He told Sky Sports: “You could say there’s been frustration on one hand, but at the same time I’m getting experience training with the players.
“I’m just trying to improve to get into the team.
“This season’s plans are this season’s plans and at the moment I’ve just to keep improving to try and get in the team.
“I want to show the manager what I can do.”
Ampadu joined Chelsea from Exeter City in 2017 for a reported fee of £2.52m, after a tribunal settle on the fee.
He has only appeared once in the league for Chelsea FC, coming off the bench in Chelsea’s 3-1 at Huddersfield in December 2017.
But he has appeared six times in cup competitions for the Blues, and now believes that his performances for Wales merit a first-team berth at Chelsea FC.
Whilst his ambition is right, he may find opportunities hard to come by as Chelsea FC boast an oversubscribed central-defence and central-midfield, the two positions in which Ampadu operates.
However, Chelsea FC have struggled in defence this season and if their struggles continue to persist, new boss Maurizio Sarri could be tempted to play a wildcard and promote Ampadu to the first-team.
