AFTER a quiet Sunday we’ve got four cards to get stuck into on Monday and that gives us plenty of options to make a bit of cash.
Today’s picks come from Newcastle, Brighton and Windsor so keep an eye on these runners who look overpriced.
6.20 Newcastle – Olivia R
Gleeful is likely to go off a short price in this after her promising debut and all eyes are also likely to be on $1m purchase Mistress Of Love who must show improvement from a disappointing debut.
However, it’s a David Barron filly that catches my eye and has every chance of hitting the frame.
OLIVIA R outran her 25-1 odds on debut to finish sixth and then ran well again when third to an odds-on hotpot at Thirsk.
She could have done even better that day as she was slow leaving the stalls but made up plenty of ground and was doing her best work late.
Clearly she is still learning but took a huge step forward last time and there’s every chance she can take a big step up again with the extra furlong looking right up her street.
6.00 Windsor – Wiley Post
Tony Carroll has got five-year-old WILEY POST running at the top of his game this season and he looks primed for another big run.
Wiley Post goes well here at Windsor as he showed when winning on his seasonal reappearance over course and distance back in April.
He has since held his form well with a second and third at this track. He got back to winning ways at Brighton under today’s jockey Jason Watson before running a cracker here on his last start.
That was in a much higher class than today when finishing a close sixth and the drop down in class and back in trip can see him return to the winners’ enclosure.

3.00 Brighton – Wild Flower
BRIGHTON is won of those tracks that course and distance form is a significant factor, not many can handle the tricky track.
Thankfully WILD FLOWER already has winning form on the South Coast and she ran well back in July over course and distance to finish a close third.
Thanks to a poor run at Windsor she’s now dropped 2lb for that run and is running off a competitive mark.
This looks a winnable race and it would be disappointing if she wasn’t involved in the finish.
