One is said to be in a “serious but stable” condition and suffered injuries that are expected to be “life changing.”

The other is in a “stable” condition.

Police say five 15-year-olds and two 14-year-olds have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder in connection with the incident.

Horrified witnesses saw two of the teens with “their stomachs cut open”, as a boy who rushed to their aid shouted “I’ll f***ing kill him” before being bundled into a police van.

Dramatic footage showed medics battling to save them, and a woman can be yelling: “Please save them, please”.

She added: “Oh my god, what about his mum.

“Please, his poor mother, his poor mother.”

As cops collar a nearby suspect, she added: “Your friends are dying and you keep f***ing up.”

Detective Inspector Dean Purvis, of Southwark Police, said: “This remains an active and fast paced investigation and although eight arrests have been made, I remain keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened or has information that would assist the investigation.

“The community is justifiably concerned by this violent incident and I appeal to the community to come forward with information and help us bring those responsible to account.

“In particular I would like to obtain footage of the incident, whether privately filmed or posted on social media.

“I urge anyone who becomes aware of footage to contact officers without delay.”

He added: “There is no place on our streets for mindless violence such as this and together we need to be resolute in driving that message home.”
