Who’s celebrating their birthday today?
Andrew Rannells, 39
Best known for his role as Elijah in the HBO hit television series Girls, Andrew Rannells first rose to fame as a stage actor.
Born and raised in Nebraska, Andrew is the fourth of five siblings.
The Broadway star first began acting as a child and took part in local community theatre.
His big break came when he was cast as Lark Linkin in a Broadway production of Hairspray in 2006.
Discussing his sexuality with Vulture, Andrew described his experience of coming out as “uneventful” because he recognised he was gay “from a very young age, like 4 or 5.”
Andrew turns 39 today.
Cheers actress Shelley Long will be blowing out the birthday candles today[/caption]
Shelley Long, 69
Shelley Long is another television star celebrating a birthday today.
The actress is best known for her role as Diane Chambers in the classic television sitcom Cheers.
During her five years on the show, Shelley was nominated for five Emmys and won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 1983 along with her two Golden Globes.
However, she decided to exit the screen in 1987 to spend more time with her daughter Juliana who was just two years old at the time.
Cheers co-star Ted Danson said during a biography documentary that there was tension between himself and Shelley but “never at a personal level and always at a work level” because of their conflicting working styles.
Shelley reprised her role as Diane for a handful of Fraiser episodes in the late 90s.
Since then, she has had a recurring role as DeDe Pritchett on ABC’s Modern Family.
Shelley turns 69 today.

Social media star and make-up entrepreneur Samantha Chapman also has reason to celebrate today.
As one half of Pixiwoo (a beauty YouTube channel with over 2 million subscribers), British make-up artist Sam and her sister Nic were among the first social media stars to make a career out of their channel.
Having grown up in Norwich, Sam followed in her auntie’s footsteps and moved to London to train as a make-up artist.
After working on MAC, Estee Lauder and Chanel make-up counters, Sam began doing backstage makeup at fashion weeks along with magazine editorial work.
In 2008, she moved back home to start a family and and was inspired to film her first YouTube tutorial when a friend asked how to do a smokey eye.
Along with her sister Nic, the two filmed tutorials of high fashion runway looks and celebrity red-carpet make-up.
By 2010, they had over 30,000 subscribers and launched their award-winning brush brand Real Techniques one year later.
Samantha turns 41 today.
