TOTTENHAM are ready to send centre half Cameron Carter-Vickers to Swansea City on loan for the rest of the season.
The young American will not be in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad and the club are happy to let him move to Wales to be part of Graham Potter’s team.
The Swans are in desperate need of new defenders after selling Alfie Mawson and Federico Fernandez in the window.
Carter-Vickers is due to join this week, with Potter facing Leeds United on Tuesday and picking from just two fit centre backs.
He was shipped out on loan to Sheffield United at the start of last season after failing to cement his spot in Tottenham’s first team.
After making 17 appearances and scoring one goal for Chris Wilder’s side, the 20-year-old joined Ipswich Town in January until the end of the season.
The Blues were hoping to bring the American back to Portman Road on loan this season.
But it is understood that he will join the Swans despite interest from several teams in the USA.
Carter-Vickers signed a new deal with Tottenham in May, which will keep him with the Premier League side until 2021.
He claimed in July that he was hoping to break into the first-team this season by impressing the boss during pre-season training.

But he failed to do so, and will now be hoping for regular football this season to gain the experience that he needs to improve.
The English-born defender has made four appearances for the USA national team after working his way through the youth ranks.
