THE heartbroken family of a 23-year-old Brit left in a coma following a freak swimming pool accident in Slovakia are desperately trying to raise £5,000 to fly him home.
Jack Wilson was holidaying with his girlfriend and pals when he suffered spinal injuries after jumping into a pool in Trnava.

He was rushed to hospital where doctors confirmed Mr Wilson’s fifth vertebra was crushed.
The McDonald’s manager also suffered damage to his head, neck and spine and had breathing problems after taking water into his lungs while he was unable to move in the pool.
Jack has been placed in an induced coma and also underwent surgery.
Now worried friends and family are trying to raise £5,000 through fundraising site GoFundMe to fly him 1,000 miles back home to Portsmouth, Hants.
Friend Cody Page, 26, from Portsmouth, said: “We need to get Jack home as soon as possible.
“His surgery went well – they managed to replace his vertebra and released the pressure on his spinal cord, which is not damaged.
“Even though what happened was horrible we were all relieved that Jack’s body was starting to repair after the trauma, but he isn’t out of the woods yet and is still miles away from his loved ones.
“We need to get him home as soon as possible no matter how and how much it is going to cost.”
Cody said Jack’s girlfriend Barbora Kunikova, who’s Slovakian has been sending updates to Jack’s family and friends back home.
She added: “Barbora has been messaging all of us back home and keeping us in the loop. It’s really good of her to do so but must be very difficult for her, having to be so open about it.
“Jack is one of the strongest people we know – but at the moment nobody really has a true idea of how he’s getting on.
“He was supposed to be coming out of the coma on Friday, but the doctors decided against doing that.
“What’s happened to him is absolutely heartbreaking and we are all really worried about him, but we will do absolutely anything we can to get him home.”
Friend Claire Napier set up a GoFundMe page and currently over £4,100 has been raised of the £5,000 target.
Claire posted: “Jack has recently been involved in a terrible accident whilst on holiday in Slovakia.
“He was transferred to the capital due to the extent of his injuries where he has since had surgery to take the pressure of his fifth vertebra which was crushed in the accident.

“He has also suffered damage to his head, neck and spine, as well as having water on his lungs. Due to this he has been in an induced coma to hopefully prevent any long term damage.
“As you can imagine, this is a very worrying and traumatic time for his family and friends back home, so by asking for your support this will help alleviate some pressure that they are feeling.
“Any help received big or small will be greatly appreciated so we can get Jack back home where he belongs.”
